Korg Monotron Analogue Ribbon Synthesizer

Korg made a battery powered portable ribbon synthesizer with absolute basic functions.

With only 5 knobs and one switch it is designed to bring you back the fun of having a limited choice and relieves the producer of the burdon that the infinite possiblitys of software based production present. Three AAA Batteries are enough to power the little device. The Keyboard is a typical ribbon controller and the pitch is similar to the one produced by the chaos pad.

Article by DJ Mixing Software:

The Bridge:

Ableton and Serato announced their collaborative project in the beginning of October 2008. Two years later the long awaited release of The Bridge is imminent.

The Bridge is bridging the gap between music production and DJing by allowing the user to connect his Serato Scratch Live or Serato ITCH system directly to Ableton Live. This gadget is bound to have success, since many DJ already use Ableton Live to create and arrange their mix-sets. It’s a great way to produce a clean mix for promotional purposes but using Live had lacked one important aspect so far and that was the fun of mixing with turntables or CDJs. Serato and Ableton are attempting to fill this gap now with “The Bridge” and we are very curious to see the outcome of this!

By using Ableton’s transport control – “ATC” among other things, it will be possible to control audio productions comprised of multiple tracks via your turntables or your CD players and all you have to do is to drag a Live set from Ableton on to one of Serato’s decks to hand the control over to the turntables the CDJs or the ITCH controller….and you’re ready to go.

The ATC enhances the control options of the DJ mixing software Scratch Live and adds a couple of new features to it – this will include the pitch adjustment options, creating loops, and the deck controls among other things. It will also be possible to remix your sets with Ableton Live, mute tracks or set them to solo, add virtual instruments, modify drum patterns, tweak audio effects and insert loops.

DJ Mixing Software update:

The Bridge got released in september and is available for free for all owners of the Ableton Live Suite 8 and for all owners of Serato Scratch Live 2. more details an a review coming soon.

DJ Mixing Software software comparision: Which software is the best pick in combination for which setup? Should I buy a digital vinyl system, invest in CD Players or stick with the good old turntables? What setup suites what mixing style?

The and more questions we are trying to answer in the following articles. WE are comparing the DJ mixing software of the industrie’s leaders Serato, Native Instruments, Atomix and Traktor to give you some support in your descision making.

DJmixingsoftware is also reporting on the latest Modells on the Market and testing DJing and production related equipment. In short – we write about everything your heart desires!

The first topics on DJ mixing software are going to be the cross comparison of Traktor Scratch, Serato and Virtual DJ. These three are definately among the top DJ mixing software available and have been around for a while. Also coming up is the DJ mixing software review of the dvs systems by M Audio and Reloop. Also avbailable now on DJ Mixing Software is a download link to the new free Virtual DJ full version download of the Virtual DJ 7 mixing software..
