DJ Software

The different DJ software products on the market are fairly similar to each other in terms of  their design and general functions. Of course there are differences between them though and the  and most imortant one is the stability during the use. The output quality and the lagging time of the audio signals are also very important factors that vary very strongly among the different brands and DJ software.

Serato’s DJ software features only two playable decks this is supposed to change with the update to scratch 2.  Serato is integrating 4 decks in the new version like it’s main competitor Traktor Scratch Pro already has. For those who can’t wait for the update, the Rane sixtyeight mixer is available, which is capable of running 2 instances of the  serato DJ software simultaniously.

The GUI is despite some minor variations quite similar to it’s rival. Numark, Mixvibes and Reloop try to differentiate from one another though different design approaches but there are no drastic differences. The main functions are all very similar and if you know how to use one of the dvs systems you shouldn’t have a problem with the others. The Traktor Scratch and Serato Scratch DJ software are a bit clearer in the functional and usability design than the rest of the Dj software products.
